Our average exterior or partial interior project usually requires 3-5 days to complete. We follow paint manufacturer’s preparation and application methods to produce the most durable coating possible. We have developed a special treatment, unique to the south side of your home. This process focuses on removing any existing failed coats, applying one solid coat of penetrating oil-based primer, and back-rolling 2 coats of premium grade Sherwin Williams® exterior paint. Read more… Paints and finishes release low-level toxic emissions into the air for years after application. The source of these toxins is a variety of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) which, until recently, were essential to the performance of the paint.
We advise you to wait for at least 24 hours for the paint to dry, and the fumes escape out of the room before you sleep in the painted room. Rushing to enter the painted room might cause nausea, headache, or sinus discomfort to your children.

I agree heavily with your decision to buy the higher end brushes. Choosing the quality tools over the cheap ones, even despite the price, is definitely the right way to go when undergoing a DIY painting project. The difference it provides is day and night! In my opinion, the money used to buy the top tier equipment saves you from any extra stress or headaches that poor quality brushes or tape can cause, so in the end it really is a win! All in all, this is a very well written and informative article, thank you for sharing your experience! MACKAY PRO PAINTERS July 14, 2020
Wow! I had no idea painting was so expensive! I guess I just haven’t painted since I was young, and of course I was unaware of cost at 12, ha!
Prep work is all about repairing cracks or holes in drywall and trim, priming, masking, and the cleanup after the job is done. This costs between $20 and $80 per room on average.
In addition, the cost to paint doors is measured per unit or by a flat price per door multiplied by the number of doors.
From there, you can calculate the cost of the paint job based on the per-gallon price of your paint brand of choice. If you need to buy equipment like ladders, paint guns, brushes, etc. remember to factor those prices into your calculation.
Many Aucklanders ask us how much time is needed to paint their house interior. The answer to this question varies based on a few factors. Are there any time constraints and deadlines? How fast do you want to have your interior painted? If there are any tight deadlines, the painting company will need to allocate more resources to finish the project on time. To calculate the cost, the project manager will multiply those hours by the company’s hourly rate which is a total of the painters’ wages, the cost of the overhead and the projected net profit.
Ensuring you have all necessary paint supplies at the ready is an important step in the DIY process. After checking what materials you have on hand, purchase or rent any outstanding supplies.

Let's say you intend to paint an area of 2,000 square feet. In this case, you need about 5.5 gallons of primer and 5.5 gallons of paint for each coat. Our Florida expert painters recommend that you add an extra 20 percent to the square footage for textured or rough wall surfaces, such as stucco or brick walls. Also, using a tinted primer close to the paint color you’ve chosen for your walls may allow you to get a unified finish without applying two coats of paint.
Homeowners who want one or more rooms finished during a single painting job can benefit from estimating the cost on the number of rooms and size of the rooms being painted. As a general rule of thumb, it will cost anywhere from $250 to $400 per room to have them painted; however, the more rooms you need painted in a single job, the less the cost per room will be in the end. For example, if you have 5 bedrooms that need painting in a single job, you will pay less per room than if you had only 1 bedroom that needed to be painted. It is therefore more cost effective to have multiple rooms painted in a single job, since you will save money in the long run.
A fresh coat of paint does not just give your home a brand new look. It also provides protection against pest damage and harsh weather, helps siding last longer, maintains structural integrity, and increases the resale value of your home. That said, painting is still a significant investment and requires a lot of careful consideration and planning in order to get the best results. From choosing the right color and finish for a room to buying painting supplies, there are a number of things you need to keep in mind before hiring a painter.
I also suggest finding a good picture of a bathroom you absolutely love and utilizing those colors.

The interior painting cost for any home can vary depending upon your location. For example: I live in Saskatchewan Canada and the average painter makes about $20 per hour, whereas that same painter would make $35 per hour painting in Vancouver Canada. The other aspect of interior painting cost is paint supplies like paint, brushes and rollers. I have found the cost of paint supplies does not actually change that much per city.
