In comparison, a professional paint job for a house of the same size would cost around $5,420 based on the national average price per square foot. Your savings would be significant, but remember that many experts don’t recommend exterior painting as a DIY project.
3,000 to 5,000+ square foot homes like this near Ponte Vedra and St. Johns, FL range from $7,800 to $12,000 and up.
Now assume you will need one primer coat and two topcoats. Your paint costs should run you about $120 per 400 square feet of painting, or $0.30 per square foot.
There are other types of custom paint jobs that professionals can complete, including painting textured walls to add dimension to a space, using faux painting techniques to replicate the look of other materials, painting accent walls for a pop of color, and painting two-tone walls to make your space seem more interesting. Some of these techniques are usually only contained to interior paint jobs, such as painting accent walls or two-tone walls. Both these techniques have the biggest impact in a room where all the walls are visible from one spot.
As for actually using the sprayer, the main thing to remember is to not overcoat with paint. Two or three quick passes will minimize drippage as opposed to trying to get a full coat on all at once. (Which I learned the hard way. The first room I painted was so drippy droppy, we had to do some extra sanding once it dried. I felt so bad!) Only by actually using the sprayer will you get a method down. By the time I was done with the sprayer, I felt like a pro and actually had fun painting!

If your drywall has been damaged, it’s best to repair the damage prior to painting. If you paint over small nail holes, those holes might stand out. If the damage is significant, it may not be possible to paint your walls until after the repairs are complete. We can repair your drywall and paint your home, allowing you to take care of everything at once. When you add everything up, you’ll see that working with us can save you time and money. Why work with two different companies when you can get everything done at once?

Painting a house takes 4 to 5 days on average, including cleaning, preparation, and painting. Painting time depends on the home and crew size, weather, and prep work required. Smaller homes may take 1 to 2 days. Larger houses or homes needing repairs may take 7 to 10 days.
The prep work is meticulous, they carefully protect surfaces not meant to be painted, including my beautiful Cordyline plants that touch the wall. They even taped plastic over my cement floor backyard. The quality of the work is great, I don't see any flaws in the paint job, and the paint is quick drying with no overwhelming paint smell. They fixed any minor flaws with the surfaces, applying patches and re-stuccoing as needed. My house looks new again!
