On the other hand, if there are lots of cracks or damaged drywall, this is where time adds up as well as the overall cost.
We’re currently flipping a house from the late 60s. We stripped popcorn ceilings ourselves in the entire house, re-textured every ceiling and wall, replaced all of the trim, and repainted every surface. We painted the ceilings with a roller extension- it was by far my least favorite part of renovations so far- so much easier if you do it before flooring is in though! I can’t wait to see more posts on the house! Such a neat project! Emily @ Life on Food February 25, 2015 .

When buying a recently updated home, you need to approach it with caution. Some realtors may say a flipped house is a great investment even though it’s not.
We have 6 crews ready to start jobs on short notices and stay on them until completed.
BEHR paints are available in quarts for painting a small area, and five-gallon pails for a very large area.
Sherwin Williams is synonymous when it comes to quality house painting products. Luckily there a number of Sherwin-Williams paint store locations throughout the city of Chicago.
In both bedrooms there were holes knocked in the walls by the door handles (easily avoided with a $1 doorstop.) The holes were too big to patch with just spackle, so I got a couple of hole patches. They are sold near the spackles in your home improvement store. The directions are easy to follow, and they work! After paint, you wouldn’t know there once were big ol’ ugly holes. We used spackle to cover nail holes, minor cracks, and imperfections throughout the house. I tried a lot of different spackles in this house. My favorite one for minor repairs is Fast N Final. It applies easily, dries in a few minutes, and doesn’t require a whole lot of sanding.
Of course, if you know anyone looking for quality Naperville painters this season, you’ll finally have an awesome local painting company to recommend!
“I would like to thank the entire team at Platinum Painting for their professionalism, promptness and the superior job completed on the exterior and lower level of my home in a record three days. My home looks amazing, greater than it looked at purchase; I cannot stop gawking at the results! Special thanks to Eddy, Jorge, Moses, Julio and also Robby (at Sherwin Williams) for your expertise in explaining and preparing me for each step of the project and following through until the end. I would highly recommend you to my family and friends.”
It is doesn’t matter where it is flat finish or gloss - the cost of painting a house won’t be quoted based of paint sheen. But labor expenses might be different whether if you will use water or oil based paint. Many wood elements in the room like moldings, baseboards or doors can be painted using oil-based paint what might increase the labor cost.
The material of your home’s exterior dictates your overall house painting approach. This includes taking care of repairs and calculating the amount of paint needed. For example, does your aluminum siding have dents or excessive “chalking” (a powdery coating)? Is your vinyl siding buckling? How much paint will you need for porous surfaces such as brick or stucco? Understanding the potential challenges upfront will aid in your decision about who will do the painting work.
The average labor cost to paint a room is $180 to $650, which typically makes up 70% to 85% of your total cost. Painters charge $1 to $3 per square foot of coverage area for room painting or $20 to $50 per hour for smaller projects. Average Labor Cost To Paint A Room Charge Average Cost Per Square Foot $1 – $3 Per Room $180 to $650 Per Hour $20 – $50
Another way that homeowners can calculate the cost of house painting is by the average cost per hour or per day. Professional painters have rates that vary between around $35 and $45 per hour for the average home; this price per hour does not include the cost for paint and materials, however, which will need to be added into the total cost. The average cost per hour will also vary depending on the type of painting that needs to be done; exterior painting, for instance, costs more than interior painting on average.
No problem on the referral, like I said it was ironic how that played out. Hope to see you down the street painting Kyle and Kathy's house one of these day.
To further make the job complicated, some painters charge an hourly rate, some by square footage, some by the room, and others by the job.
